Automatic dosing systems are the best solution for precise and fast application of industrial adhesives, glues and other chemicals. Only in this way can the chemical be dosed exactly to the desired surface and in the desired amount.
In manual applications performed by the operator using equipment such as a brush, the chemical may not be applied to the desired surface exactly or a different amount may be applied than desired. This may cause quality problems. In addition, a chemical applied in excess of the desired amount will increase consumption and thus increase costs.
Dosing can be done on flat surfaces, side surfaces, inner surfaces of holes and screw surfaces. It can also be done with or without contact with the surface depending on the application. Various dosing equipments can be used during these processes.
The most frequently dosed chemicals are as follows:
- Oil
- Grease
- Anaerobic Chemicals (e.g. Loctite, screw adhesive)
- Adhesives (Cyanoacrylate, etc.)

High Precision and Homogeneous Adhesive Application with Rotary Dosing System
As Normtech, our adhesive dosing solution, the rotary head dosing machine, can easily be applied to many adhesives and can be applied to hole inner walls and screw threads. In this way, it is possible to apply the desired amount of chemical to the desired area repeatedly. With this application, which is carried out without contact, a very homogeneous and high-precision chemical application is provided to large surfaces. Even 0,01 ml (+/-%1) precision can be achieved.
The rotary head dosing unit is suitable for oil, grease, industrial adhesives (e.g. Loctite adhesives) and other adhesives. It can be applied to holes from 10 mm to 50 mm (please reach us for smaller or bigger dimensions).

Normtech Rotary Tip Dosing Unit
The system consists of 1 tank, 1 dosage valve, 1 rotor and 1 control unit.
The tank in the system is used to feed the desired adhesive. It is monitored with an electronic pressure measurement sensor that the feeding pressure is constant, and it is ensured that the same amount of product is always fed. In addition, if there is no air pressure, the system gives an alarm, and the continuation of the dosage process is automatically aborted.
The dosage valve is selected according to the chemical to be applied. Dosing valve provides the adhesive from the tank to the end of the rotor. It is possible to adjust the application amount and speed via the valve. Needle valve and diaphragm valve are the most commonly used valve types. It is used for various micro dosing systems. We use premium European branded valves in our systems, or your preferred brand can be adapted easily.
The rotor is the mechanism that allows the adhesive to be thrown into the inner walls of the hole. Thanks to the rotating head attached to the end of the rotor, the adhesive is thrown to the inside of the hole with centrifugal force and the entire circumference of the rotor is covered with adhesive. The rotation speed of the rotor can reach up to 10,000 RMP. The servo motor inside the rotor assembly is used as premium European brands for best performance and efficiency.
The control unit has an interface that allows the system to operate and where the user can make adjustments. The user can adjust the duration of the application, the rotor rotation speed and the applied steps from this interface. Our control unit has Siemens PLC and other electrical switchgear parts.
It is possible for the robot and other control units to communicate with the PLC in the control unit. For example, in robotic applications, it is possible to start the process with the robot's signal and to send signals to the robot from the control unit that the process has started and ended.

The application is carried out in 3 steps:
Pre-dosing Cycle: The rotor starts rotating before the dosing valve delivers the adhesive. In this way, the rotor is prevented from throwing adhesive before reaching full speed and the change in the application amount that may occur due to different speeds is prevented. Therefore, it is recommended that the duration of this cycle is determined according to the time required for rotor to reach the full speed.
Dosing Cycle: The dosing valve sends the adhesive to the rotating head at the end of the rotor. During this process, the adhesive is applied to the surface.
Post Dosing Cycle: The dosing valve stops sending the adhesive, but the rotor head continues to rotate. In this way, it is ensured that adhesives that may remain on the dosing head at the end of the dosing cycle is also sent to the part surface and the amount to be applied in the next cycle is prevented from being affected.
